How proudP Became a Game-Changer

One of proudP’s dedicated users, who we’ll refer to as b---, shared a heartfelt letter detailing his experience with the app. His message encapsulates the value that proudP provides to individuals dealing with urinary health concerns:

[ Wrote a beautiful letter titled “proudP what an app”]

Dear proudP,

I am writing to thank you for producing and getting out an AMAZING app. proudP is the exact thing I needed to track my urine flow and output so that I could communicate to my urologist exactly what has been happening with my BPH situation.

Previously, I was manually measuring my void volumes with a graduated silicone cup and recording the volumes by hand. But I had no way of measuring Qmax, mean volume, etc. proudP is the perfect way to measure, record, and store this info. And it is way more representative of my situation than the one-shot uroflowmetry reading I do during my appointments.

I had a Rezum treatment done about a year ago, and it turns out that it wasn’t effective enough. My urologist had been assuring me over the last year that my frequency, urgency, and volume issues were not due to any obstruction. proudP helped me make the case that I need a better solution.

Also, I had a kidney stone issue a few years back, and for prevention reasons, I measured my urine output to target 2,500ml to 3,000ml per day. proudP keeps me on track. So easy. Excellent interface, no bugginess or anything.

I HIGHLY recommend this app to anyone who is experiencing these types of urinary tract issues. Game changer!

We wanted to hear more from this user, so we reached out to b7ae0 for an interview, and he graciously accepted. Here's what we talked to him about. He also agreed to make our conversation public.

Interview

Q. To start, could you tell us a little about yourself?

A. b7ae0, I57 years old, and found urinary issues when I was 47.

Q. I’d love to hear about your journey, starting from when you first began experiencing symptoms.

A. I could urinate 20 times a day, it’s that ridiculous. It was impossible to not recognize the symptoms. I had too frequent voiding, and couldn’t really empty. I would get up 4 times during the night to use the restroom. I did a lot of research, googling, listening to lectures on YouTube, then thought it may be Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH). So I went to a renowned urologist at one of the major US hospitals, and the urologist concluded that I don’t have an enlarged prostate, and I have an overactive bladder (OAB). I was recommended with kegel exercises and pilates, but there was no improvement. I was still convinced that I had BPH. There was a time when I used paper and urinary cups to monitor the change. I started using proudP after researching.

Q. I'm curious how you heard about proudP, especially since we haven't done any major advertising or marketing.

A. I came across proudP when searching on google. There was a time when I used paper and urinary cups to monitor the change. I started using proudP after researching. I have used other similar products too but proudP is far easier to use.

"how can a 1-time measurement speak for my urinary symptoms?"

Q. I'm curious about why you chose proudP and how it has helped you.

A. Better to show natural urination habits. In the office, I did a uroflow (the first time I did the uroflow), I knew it wasn't accurate. I was doubtful, "how can a 1-time measurement speak for my urinary symptoms?"

It makes it easy to communicate my symptoms to a urologist with objective measures. I was lucky to find proudP. I knew it was amazing after just 1 measurement. I showed my urologist the accumulated proudP measures and corrected my diagnosis to BPH, specifically bladder outlet obstruction, intravesical protrusion of tissue. My Qmax was about 5-10ml/s.

It is possible to monitor urinary output as part of treatment management. For me, I had a kidney stone and was advised to urinate 2,500ml a day and proudP made it so much easier to track.

The proudP is a quick and easy tool for self-monitoring. It not only gives you the flow rate, but also measures and logs the voided volume (VV) and total voids for the day. When you combine the measurement aspect with the knowledge of what's available, this could be a game changer for many people sooner. They don't have to suffer at all.

"I had a kidney stone and was advised to urinate 2,500ml a day and proudP made it so much easier to track.

Q. How would you describe proudP in one sentence?

A. Convenient, accurate, extremely helpful, easy to see how and what my changes are like. very easy to use.

Q. Last remarks to share with potential users?

A. Why wait until you’re about to get urinary retention? (which he had one time ending up at hospital) no sign, it just happened out of blue. Bring the proudP data and help your urologists understand you better.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We will continue to improve the app to better support you and others on your health journey.
